The purpose of the Florida Forest Service’s urban and community forestry technical assistance program is to provide a direct route for communities to receive technical assistance to help build their capacity to manage the urban forest without requiring extensive grant management by community staff. This program will operate by hiring one or more consulting firms to prepare urban forest management plans, conduct tree canopy analysis, identify opportunities to enhance tree related ordinances, and/or prepare storm management plans, among other options for local governments. Each year of this program, the state will assign communities and projects to the selected vendor to complete based on the needs of individual communities.

Qualified applicants are business entities and educational institutions.
