The purpose of the equipment assistance grant is to address the infrastructure needs of eligible School Food Authorities (SFAs) in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP). These funds will be awarded through grant process to SFAs for the purchase of equipment to improve food safety, serve healthier school meals with emphasis on more fruits and vegetables, improve overall energy efficiency, and expand participation. Equipment requests may include new equipment, renovation of equipment, replacement of equipment and installation costs.
