Local Food for Schools Cooperative Agreement Program

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) was awarded a cooperative agreement from the USDA for the Florida Local Food for Schools Cooperative Agreement Program (LFS). The purpose of this grant is to increase economic opportunities for Florida producers (i.e., farmers or ranchers), targeting socially disadvantaged and small business producers, while increasing access to fresh produce in Florida’s rural schools. This will be accomplished by connecting targeted producers with Florida schools participating in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) or the School Breakfast Program (SBP)
